NBC Sports and Peacock Kick Off Big Ten Football with Fall Out Boy and Primetime Matchups
NBC Sports is set to elevate its college football coverage with an exciting new season, featuring multi-platinum and GRAMMY award-nominated rock band Fall Out Boy. The band will star in the show open for NBC Sports’ B1G Saturday Night, which debuts on September 2 ahead of the season-opening West Virginia-Penn State game at 7:30 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock. The show open, with a chorus of “Here Comes Saturday Night,” will highlight Big Ten football players, cheerleaders, bands, and fans.
In addition to the show open, Fall Out Boy will headline the promotional campaign for Big Ten Football across NBCUniversal platforms throughout the summer and fall. “We are excited to have Fall Out Boy star in our show open to help us capture the passion and pageantry of Big Ten Football in primetime,” said Tripp Dixon, NBC Sports creative director. The band’s involvement coincides with the release of their eighth studio album, So Much (For) Stardust, which debuted as the No. 1 rock album and features the hit single “Love From The Other Side.” Following the North American leg of their So Much For (Tour) Dust headline tour, the band will continue performing in Europe and the UK this fall.
Big Ten Saturday Night marks a historic moment as it is the first time Big Ten Football will have a dedicated weekly primetime game on a national broadcast network. Additionally, Peacock will exclusively stream nine Big Ten Football games this season, starting with Michigan hosting East Carolina on September 2 at Noon ET.
