Blood Donors Needed to Help Patients at St. Francis-Emory Healthcare
LifeSouth Community Blood Centers urges the Columbus community to donate blood in support of St. Francis-Emory Healthcare and their patients. Blood donations are crucial for treating patients suffering from traumas, cancers, and chronic illnesses before they require blood. Melody Trimble, CEO of St. Francis-Emory Healthcare, emphasizes the importance of blood donation in their daily operations, ensuring they can provide essential care to those in need.
Visit LifeSouth's new donor center at 5550 Whittlesey Boulevard, Suite 820, next to Kirklands and TJ Maxx, open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. They also encourage businesses and churches to host blood drives to bolster community support.
Sharon Carpenter, LifeSouth District Director, underscores their commitment as the sole blood provider for St. Francis-Emory Healthcare, relying on local donors to assist local patients. LifeSouth invites residents to make a difference by donating blood at their centers or mobile drives, hosting blood drives, or encouraging first-time donors to participate.
Until July 31, all donors receive a $20 e-gift card, with additional incentives for platelet and double red cell donations. Regular donors are encouraged to bring a friend, ensuring a steady supply of blood for patient care.
