The Chattahoochee Valley will host the second annual RushSouth Music and Outdoor Festival on October 12, 2024. The event features free activities, affordable outdoor adventures, and a ticketed concert with soul and funk legends Tower of Power headlining, and honky-tonk master Junior Brown opening the show. Daytime activities will occur throughout Uptown, with the concert at Woodruff Park from 5 pm to 11 pm.

Originally launched to celebrate the World Freestyle Kayak Championships, the RushSouth Music Festival is now a key event in Uptown Columbus' fall season.

“The highlight of the festival will be the dynamic performances by two high-energy bands,” said Tracey Green, Marketing and Communications Director with Uptown Columbus. “The high level of musicianship makes this a must-see show,” with genres including country, rock, soul, funk, rockabilly, and surf rock.

Concert doors open at 5 pm, with Junior Brown performing at 6 pm and Tower of Power at 8 pm. Food, beverages, and arts and crafts will be available for purchase.

Daytime activities include rafting trips on the Chattahoochee River, ziplining from Georgia to Alabama, and Market Days on Saturday morning featuring over 100 vendors. Attendees can also explore Uptown’s shops, boutiques, restaurants, public art, and the award-winning Columbus Riverwalk. Bike rentals and connections to the Dragonfly Trail network are available. Keep Columbus Beautiful will host a city-wide litter cleanup from 8:30 to 11:30 am, including the 30th annual Help the Hooch.

Concert tickets start at $35 for general admission before August 15, 2024, with VIP tickets starting at $55. Prices rise to $40 and $60 through September 30 and $45 and $65 starting October 1. Visit www.rushsouthfest.com for tickets.
