AFLAC PRESENTS UPTOWN COLUMBUS’S FRIDAY NIGHT CONCERTS POWERED BY COLUMBUS, GA BASEBALL!

Uptown Columbus’s free fall Friday Night Concert Series made a vibrant return to Broadway on Friday, September 6. Columbus, GA Baseball, a proud sponsor of the concert series, used the event as a platform to unveil the team’s name, colors, and mascot. The kickoff of the season saw The Tommy Prine Band take the stage at 5:30 PM, followed by Homegrown – The Zac Brown Tribute Band, which captivated the audience with their performance at 8:00 PM.

The event featured Columbus’s first-ever drone show, which dazzled spectators with 150 drones lighting up the sky at 10:00 PM. Sky Elements Drone Shows delivered a 12-minute spectacle of baseball-themed animations, shapes, and patterns, making it a unique highlight for the Chattahoochee area.

The five-week concert series, held every Friday from 7:00 to 10:00 PM in the 1000 block of Broadway, offered a diverse range of music genres and showcased local talent. The concerts were free and family-friendly, drawing a large crowd of residents who enjoyed the lively atmosphere and entertainment.

Columbus, GA Baseball was on-site each week selling team merchandise, and fans eagerly prepared for the upcoming season kickoff in April 2025. General Manager Pete Laven expressed excitement about the event, stating, “We were thrilled to partner with Uptown Columbus for this historic moment in Columbus baseball history. The community’s anticipation was palpable, and we were proud to reveal the new team identity in such a festive environment.”

Local restaurants provided food and beverages for sale, adding to the event’s vibrant atmosphere. Free parking was available in nearby public decks, and while lawn chairs were welcomed, outside coolers were prohibited, and pets were discouraged due to the large crowds and noise. The 1000 block of Broadway closed at 4:30 PM, and the 900 block of Broadway along with 10th Street from Front Ave to First Ave were closed from 9:00 to 10:30 PM for the drone show. Roads reopened as soon as they were cleared.

Sponsors for the series included AFLAC, Columbus, GA Baseball, The Lindsay Doggett Agency, and PMB Broadcasting.
