THE SPRINGER OPERA HOUSE SCORES BIG WITH JERSEY BOYS
Oct 12, 2024 02:32PM ● By Bill EvansI’ve mentioned it several times before: the challenge with writing a review for a monthly publication like Chattahoochee Valley Living is that by the time you read it, it’s often too late to catch the show. CEO Danielle Patterson-Varner and Artistic Director Keith McCoy continue to impress with the performances they’re bringing to this historic Columbus, Georgia theatre.
It’s hard to imagine you don’t already know the story of Jersey Boys, chronicling the rise of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. Adam Marino, making his Springer Opera House debut, takes on the role of Frankie Valli. Adam is no stranger to the part, having portrayed Valli seven times before. He’s also a former member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame group The Diamonds. With his great voice and range, he’s perfectly suited for this demanding role.
Jersey Boys is more than just Frankie Valli’s story. It’s a tale of friendship, partnerships, and the struggles of climbing the Billboard charts, all while navigating a music scene forever altered by the Beatles and the Rolling Stones. The Jersey Boys were different, and they endured. Just when it seemed like the Four Seasons were finished, Frankie Valli emerged as a successful solo artist.
The songs are timeless, and kudos to the entire cast, which includes Matthew Ruehlman, also making his Springer debut, along with Christian Becerra and Andy Brown, both returning to the Springer stage. Hats off to the production crew as well, who continue to dazzle with each Springer Opera House performance.
Don’t miss out on upcoming shows at the Springer Opera House. Supporting the arts in our community is essential, and there’s always something amazing coming next!
