Oct 16, 2024 02:53PM ● By Desi Phillips

This Veterans Day, the PGA HOPE (Helping Our Patriots Everywhere) Georgia Program is hosting a special event to honor and support our veterans. The PGA Hope Cup will take place on Monday, November 11th, at the prestigious Bobby Jones Golf Course in Atlanta. This event promises to be a day of camaraderie, competition, and community, all centered around the game of golf.

Event Details:

  • Date: Monday, November 11th (Veterans Day)
  • Location: Bobby Jones Golf Course, Atlanta
  • Time: Tee times from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM
  • Participants: 13 teams, each representing a different PGA HOPE Georgia Program
  • Format: 9-hole, 5-person Pro-Vet Handicapped Scramble

Each team in the PGA Hope Cup will consist of one PGA Professional and four veterans, creating a unique opportunity for veterans to engage with golf professionals and enjoy a day on the course. The format of the event is a 9-hole, 5-person Pro-Vet Handicapped Scramble, which ensures a fun and competitive atmosphere for all participants.

One of the key aspects of the PGA Hope Cup is its fundraising component. While participation in the event is free for all veterans, teams are encouraged to collectively raise a minimum of $2,000. All proceeds from the event will go directly to support PGA HOPE Georgia Programs, which provide golf instruction and therapeutic programs for veterans. PGA Professionals are not required to fundraise but can assist their teams by promoting the event on social media or distributing flyers.

The PGA Hope Cup is more than just a golf tournament; it is a celebration of the resilience and dedication of our veterans. By participating in this event, veterans have the chance to connect with others who have shared similar experiences, build new friendships, and enjoy the therapeutic benefits of golf. The event also highlights the important work of the PGA HOPE Georgia Programs in using golf as a means to improve the physical, mental, and social well-being of veterans.

Join us at the Bobby Jones Golf Course on November 11th to support our veterans and witness the incredible spirit of the PGA Hope Cup. Whether you’re a participant or a spectator, this event is sure to be a memorable and inspiring experience.
