What Makes a Nonprofit Hospice Like Columbus Hospice of Georgia and Alabama Essential to the Chattahoochee Valley?
Columbus Hospice of Georgia and Alabama has been serving our community since 1979. As we approach our 46th year this November, we want to reflect on the critical role our organization plays in the Chattahoochee Valley—and how our nonprofit status, combined with the generosity of our donors, continues to make our mission possible.
We stand alongside patients and families during the most difficult times in their lives. Every dollar we receive is reinvested in excellent care and services that directly benefit those we serve. Through individual donations and annual fundraisers, we’re able to continue providing compassionate, high-quality hospice care—even for patients who are unfunded or underfunded.
Events like Denim and Diamonds, our Legacy Circle brick sale, and numerous other fundraisers throughout the year help cover the cost of charity care. Because we are committed to never turning anyone away, we firmly believe that every person deserves dignity, compassion, and expert care—regardless of financial or social circumstances.
Our Hospice House is a powerful example of that commitment. As the area’s only stand-alone hospice facility, it offers 24/7 expert care during the final stages of life. It is a place of comfort, peace, and respect—built and sustained by this community’s unwavering support.
Last year alone, Columbus Hospice provided over $1.58 million in charity care. That number grows each year, and we are incredibly proud to rise to meet that need—with your help.
To those who already support Columbus Hospice: thank you. Your donations, event participation, referrals, and volunteer efforts allow us to continue this life-changing work. If you’re looking to get involved, volunteering is one of the most meaningful ways to share your most valuable asset—your time. We offer regular new volunteer orientation classes and would love to have you join us.
